ADVANCED HANDS-ON EDUCATION

FOR PROFESSIONALS WHO KEEP DOGS MOVING

because every dog is a superhero

WHAT'S NEW FOR STAAR CANINE 2027

For our 14th STAAR Canine Conference, we’re bringing together new faculty, new learning opportunities, and a few favorite STAAR traditions.

WELCOME OUR NEW STAAR INSTRUCTORS

Robert Gillette, DVM, MSE, DACVSMR

A pioneer in canine sports medicine and performance, Dr. Robert Gillette has spent more than three decades studying canine movement, biomechanics, conditioning, and gait. A Charter Diplomate and the first President of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, he brings an exceptional depth of experience with athletic, working, and performance dogs.

At STAAR, he’ll take that science directly to the dog through hands-on labs in functional movement, gait, performance assessment, and exercise.

Laurie McCauley, DVM, DACVSMR, CCRT, CVA, CVC

Dr. McCauley helped shape the field of veterinary rehabilitation. She founded one of the earliest veterinary practices dedicated to rehabilitation and has spent decades teaching rehabilitation professionals around the world.

We’re thrilled to bring her extensive clinical experience, integrative approach, and practical teaching style to STAAR 2027.

Kate Titus, CCFT, CTMT, CSMT

Kate Titus specializes in helping senior and mobility-challenged dogs continue to move, participate, and live well. Through her work in canine fitness, mobility, adaptive equipment, and caregiver education, she brings a real-world perspective to the rehabilitation team.

Her practical approach to mobility aids, functional fitness, and everyday problem-solving makes her a natural addition to the STAAR faculty.

NEW FOR 2027: STAAR FIT

For the first time, STAAR is expanding beyond the veterinary professional with STAAR Fit — a hands-on educational program created for highly dedicated pet parents.

While our professional labs are taking place, pet parents will have their own program featuring separate hands-on labs designed to help them better understand movement, mobility, exercise, and ways to support their dogs at home.

The goal is not to turn pet parents into practitioners. It is to give committed owners the knowledge and practical tools to become better partners in their dog’s care.

Same STAAR philosophy. A new audience. Because every dog deserves a great team.

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND: MORNING YOGA

It was one of the surprise favorites of STAAR 2026 — so we’re bringing it back.

Begin the day with guided yoga, stretching, and mindfulness before heading into a full schedule of hands-on labs.

A little self-care time for the practitioner before a full day devoted to education.

THE STAAR RAFFLE RETURNS

We’re switching things up for 2027 and bringing back a longtime STAAR favorite: the STAAR Raffle.

Our exhibitors and industry partners will be donating an amazing collection of products, equipment, educational resources, and other prizes throughout the conference.

Visit our exhibitors. Learn something new. And you may go home with something pretty terrific, too.

THREE DAYS. HANDS-ON. ALL STAAR.

April 13–15, 2027

Hilton Parsippany, New Jersey

Three days of veterinary rehabilitation, sports medicine, mobility, pain management, integrative care, and clinical problem-solving — taught the way STAAR was designed to teach it:

Small groups. Live dogs. Exceptional instructors. Hands on.

Because some things are learned best by doing.
