Description: This very enlightening session reviews the latest science and research in treatment and assessment modalities including laser therapy (photobiomodulation), stance analysis and hydrotherapy.  The practical, everyday application of stance, photobiomodulation (laser), hydrotherapy, and cold compression are included. This lecture will cover the mechanisms behind healing the patient with these modalities as well as the latest literature supporting their use in a rehab setting. Practical clinical case discussions using one or more of these tools will also be presented.

Description: Eddie's Wheels custom builds the most biomechanically sound pet wheelchairs on the market.  Designed to support pets on their pelvic floor, they can compensate for increasing weakness or strengthening, making them a valuable tool for helping dogs achieve mobility.  We will teach you to accurately assess, measure, and fit pets for Eddie's Wheels.  This will include rear and front wheel carts, walkers, and quad carts.  We'll include some tips on how to acclimate pets to using carts, making fine-tuning adjustments, and training dogs to use front wheel carts.  We'll do some hands-on measuring of disabled dogs using the right tools. We'll be joined by Erika McElwey who has 16 years of experience working with Eddie's Wheels carts in her practice.  We'll show you our adjustable therapy stand and how it can be used over a land treadmill to help rehabilitate neuro dogs without having to rely on water based systems.  The therapy stand can also be used for bodywork, chiropractic and acupuncture.  We'll also demonstrate our adjustable clinic quad cart.

Description: Whether you already have a laser, are looking to purchase one, or you just want to gain insight into this rapidly-growing field, this informational session will have something for you.  Combining presented materials, participant discussion, and Q&A, we will cover a range of topics from the basic elements of a therapeutic laser to the scientific underpinnings and mechanisms of action, and parameters, dosimetry, and advanced techniques in clinical application.  Although SpectraVET lasers will be used for illustration and demonstration purposes, the information presented will be broadly applicable to all popular therapeutic laser devices in clinical use.
