Registration Process

Workshops are Intensive and designed for the serious practitioner.  Workshops include live dogs (approx. 1 dog per 3-4 participants) so that learned skills and techniques can be directly and immediately implemented into practice. Classes are intimate, informal, and small to maximize learning (max 20 participants/class).

RATING SCALE FOR WORKSHOPS

Basic: This introductory workshop level is for participants seeking to build fundamental knowledge of the topic. The material provides a comprehensive introduction, covering essential concepts and skills through guided, hands-on practice. It is perfect for those with little to no prior experience.

Intermediate: This workshop is designed for participants who have a foundational understanding of the topic or skill and are ready to expand their knowledge. The course will move beyond basic concepts to focus on more advanced techniques, specific applications, and practical problem-solving. This is an ideal next step for those looking to apply their existing knowledge in a more in-depth, hands-on environment.

Advanced: Intended for experienced participants, this workshop focuses on sophisticated techniques, complex problem-solving, and professional application of skills. The curriculum assumes a high level of prior knowledge, allowing for a deeper exploration of nuanced concepts and best practices. Participants can expect a fast-paced, highly interactive experience that will help them master the most challenging aspects of the subject.

 

Admission exceptions are made by special permission based on review of the applicant's previous coursework, education, and work experience.

Workshop choices are on a first-come, first-served basis and honored once final payment is received.​

Participant Responsibilities and Cancellation / Refund Policies
  • Workshop choices are on a first-come, first-served basis, and are honored when full payment is received and processed.

  • Participants receive a confirmation e-mail with course schedule once payment is made in full.

  • Certificates of Attendance with documented contact hours are awarded upon successful completion of selected courses and can be used for C.E.U. verification and credits. These will be e-mailed to each Participant by June 30th, 2026.

  • Participants are required to sign a Release of Liability upon arrival and registration at STAAR.

  • Workshops are cancelled if less than 10 participants enroll by March 31st, 2026.

  • Dates, locations, instructors and/or costs are subject to change.

  • Requests for refunds must be submitted via the Workshop Cancellation Form.

  • STAAR refunds are not issued for late arrivals or absenteeism and are non-transferable.

To request a refund, please complete and postmark this Workshop Cancellation Form by

March 28, 2026. Refunds issued as below excluding $25 processing fee.

 

Cancellation refund is issued as follows:

 

  1. Prior to January 1, 2026 (75% refund).

  2. From January 1 to February 15, 2026 (50% refund).

  3. From February 16 to March 28, 2026 (25% refund).

  4. No refunds will be issued after March 28, 2026.
