DESCRIPTION:

This hands-on wet lab is designed for veterinary professionals and animal bodyworkers who are new to kinesiology taping for horses or have minimal experience. We’ll begin with an overview of the various brands and types of kinesiology tape on the market — including differences in stretch, adhesive, and suitability for equine hair. You’ll learn how to properly prep the horse’s coat for optimal adhesion, cut and handle the tape without reducing its integrity, and apply it with purpose and precision. In the hands-on portion of the lab, we’ll focus on two foundational applications:

  • Postural Support Taping for Equine Core Engagement & Topline Activation: Techniques to encourage core engagement and postural awareness through activation of the back and abdominal muscles.
  • Lymphatic Drainage Taping for Equine Edema & Inflammation: Fan and web techniques to assist with fluid movement, reduce localized swelling, and support recovery post-injury. Also proper use of perforated tape (Hestaband) for improving blood and lymph flow.

This class is perfect for those looking to build a solid taping foundation and begin confidently incorporating kinesiology tape into their equine wellness toolkit.
