This half-day workshop will focus on evaluating the functional mobility of rehabilitation patients, including aspects such as posture, transitions, functional activities, and gait. Participants will review the gait cycle and examine common alterations associated with orthopedic conditions, soft tissue injuries, and neurological disorders, learning to differentiate between them. Additionally, objective gait analysis will be demonstrated and discussed. 

 

 Lecture will cover the following topics: 

  • Anatomy, generation and control of the canine gait 
  • Normal gait cycle 
  • Pathologic gait cycle 
  • Muscular vs Orthopedic vs Neurological Gait Changes 
  • Review of gait videos by pathology 

Subjective Gait Analysis 

  • Pros and Cons 
  • How to perform appropriate gait analysis 
  • Video tips of gait analysis and apps you can utilize to evaluate gait 
  • Alterations associated with common rehabilitation conditions 

Objective Gait Analysis 

  • Pros and Cons

  • Information gained from objective gait analysis
